Personalized Support

Democraticstuff.com has begun selling products in support of Sen. Barack Obama that can be personalized to include your name/organization in support of the democratic nominee. While at first glance this may not be a revolutionary step in the selling of political merchandise, considering the number of “this group for” or “that group for” t-shirts that are visible any political rallies. What makes this novel is the “individual support” suggested in ads for these products (which can often be seen on political action sites such as moveon.org). How many times have you ever seen someone in public putting their name on a shirt that can be so divisive? I have yet to see one of these t-shirts yet but would gather that it would take a motivated and self-confident citizen to remove the anonymity of political support.
